SCAA honours 65 long serving staff

The ceremony recognises long-serving staff and rewards those who have dedicated 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years of service at the Authority, respectively.

The leadership of SCAA was well represented during the event with the presence of Mrs. Sherin Francis, acting Chairperson of the SCAA Board and other Directors, Mr. Pedro Pierre and Mr. Yannick Roucou. Also in attendance was the Principal Secretary for Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine, Mr. Alan Renaud.

In welcoming the guests and awardees Ms. Lorella Uranie, General Manager for Human Resources and Administration, said that “SCAA is a people-centric organization, and our staff is our greatest asset.  This ceremony is a celebration of the achievements of some of SCAA’s devout and loyal staff.  We are proud to have you as part of the SCAA family as our people embody what SCAA is all about.”

In his keynote address, PS Alan Renaud noted that he was delighted to learn that 297 staff of the SCAA have served for more than 10 years. Speaking to the awardees, he said “In you, we have put our faith, that you will continue to provide unforgettable travel experiences that support our thriving tourism industry. we know you will ensure reliable and efficient air access and know why it is so important to Seychelles’ prosperity.  You are truly an inspiration to others especially the younger generations and all your fellow colleagues.”

During the evening, 30 staff received their award for 10 years of service, 17 staff were awarded for 15 and 20 years of service and 10 other staff were awarded for 20, 25 and 30 years of service, respectively.

 The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the long service award to Mr. Michel Bonne, who has been with SCAA for 35 years. Mr. Bonne who is employed as a mason at the Authority said that “I am delighted to have achieved this milestone; it comes from hard work, grit, determination, and optimism. I enjoy what I do, and I am proud of my achievements and the many contributions made over the years. In my own way, I see how I have contributed to the development of the aviation industry in Seychelles. My love for the job, is what keeps me going.”

The Awardees was graced with a performance from the recently decorated artist, Mr. Joe Samy, who performed two of his most beloved songs to the guests, “Seychelles que J’aime” and “Creole Touch”. The Kandenza band also performed some local favorites, making the evening a night to remember.
